Content Guidelines

All works must be newly created for this zine, and we ask that you do not discuss or post them publicly until after the zine has reached completion. The use of generative AI for this zine’s content is strictly prohibited.

Theme: Your works must be entirely canon-compliant, up to and including chapter 431, and aim to create post-canon “fix-it” fic/art.
We welcome any interpretation of what a fix-it means to you and what it would entail. While this is a DkBk shipping zine, we do not require you to portray the two of them getting together. Platonic and pre-relationship fics are welcome, as long as their relationship’s development is the focus. If the two of them don’t end up getting together, there must be no other endgame ship. You may create content picking up the day after ch431, or set 30+ years into the future. It is entirely up to you. As long as it’s canon-compliant and it’s a “fix-it”, it’s allowed. Flashbacks and/or showcasing pre-431 moments (such as moments in the 8 year timeskip or from their childhood) are allowed and open to your interpretation.

Content restrictions:
• Scat• Cannibalism/vore• Cis genderbend: including quirk accidents• Izuku or Katsuki in an endgame ship that is not DkBk: past/existing relationships are permitted as long as that relationship is not endgame• Anything that would contradict existing canon: time travel/multiverse quirk accidents are welcome, as long as it’s somehow tied into being believably post-canon• Tragic endings: this is a fix-it zine, so a modicum of hopefulness is expectedOther heavy/dark content is fair game. We will include any TWs/CWs for your work in the zine.

Writer Specifications

Writers must create 1 SFW work. They may also optionally choose to create 1 NSFW work. For the purposes of this zine, NSFW refers to work featuring sexual content.SFW word count: 3,000–15,000
NSFW word count: 2,000–5,000
Writers will be paired with 1-3 (depending on number of available artists) page or spot artists to create a companion piece for their fic.

  • Page art (solo)

  • Comic (solo)

  • Page art (in collaboration with an author, as a companion piece for their fic)

Physical works must be on unlined paper and properly scanned/photographed. All art must be made by you personally — curated content, such as mood boards, playlists, or AMVs, are not applicable for this zine.

F.A.Q.

How will contributors be chosen?
We will look through the pool of people we know of, as well as the creators recommended on our interest check, and individually reach out to those whose work aligns with our vision of the zine.
How do I recommend myself?
Link your portfolio in our interest check. For writers, an AO3 profile is preferred.
I haven’t been in a zine before. Is that okay?
Yup! We don’t check for past zine experience.
Is NSFW allowed?
The main zine will be SFW, but there will have an NSFW add-on that contributors can optionally participate in.
What are the NSFW dynamics?
We don’t restrict which dynamic our contributors choose to portray and switching is welcome! The head/writing mod does have a preference for DkBk, so it is likely that the majority of the invited zine contributors and accepted pitches will be that dynamic. Please do be prepared that for SFW work, you may be paired to collaborate with an artist/author who prefers the other dynamic. (Artists will get to choose which author pitches they want to work with.)
How many people are you inviting?
This will depend on the results of our interest check and the number of artists who will agree to participate, since we need more artists than writers. There is no shortage of amazing writers who want to be in zines, and we will try our best to invite as many as we can.
How will you be communicating with contributors?
Going Beyond will be managed through a Discord server. You must have an account, or be willing to create one, and check it regularly. We have a no ghosting policy, which means that if a mod pings you, you must respond within 48 hours, after which you will be given a warning and another 48 hours to respond. Failure to get back to us will result in your removal from the project without further warning. (If you are going to be unavailable due to external circumstances, please let us know beforehand!) We are strict on this rule as lack of communication makes it difficult to complete something with so many people involved.
What if I have to drop out?
Please notify a mod! We would much prefer knowing and having the possibility of working out extensions than being ghosted. This goes doubly if you are partnered with another creator. If you’d like to discontinue being part of the zine for any reason, that’s okay. Let us know ASAP so that we can find a pinch-hitter.
